Travel Information

Despite our isolated location in the far north of Scotland with a little effort we can be easily reached.

By road

From the south it is possible to access Scourie either via Ullapool or via Lairg. Although both routes are approximately 100 miles and will take approximately two and a quarter hours by car we tend to recommend the Ullapool route via the A835 as the easier of the two. Ullapool is approximately 45 miles to the south and is roughly an hour away.

From the north we are approximately 25 miles south of Durness which will take approximately 45 minutes by car via the A838 to Laxford Bridge and then the A835 to Scourie. Lairg is approximately 45 miles away with a journey time by car of about an hour and fifteen minutes via the A838 to Laxford Bridge and then the A835 to Scourie.

By rail

Our nearest railway station is located at Lairg. Please be advised however that the bus service from Lairg to Scourie is extremely limited.

By air

There is normally a regular air service from London Airports into Inverness. We would advise any guests flying into Inverness to make prior arrangements for car hire.

By prior arrangement we are also able to accept guests wishing to arrive directly at the hotel via helicopter. Please contact the hotel to discuss your requirements.

By sea

Being located a short walk from Scourie Bay we would also be delighted to welcome any guests wishing to drop anchor.
