Visit Handa

Handa Island is managed by the Scottish Wildlife Trust. Take a trip on the Handa Ferry and visit Britain’s largest breeding colony of guillemots. Hand Island is also home to puffins, razorbills, skuas, kittiwakes and terns. On the island’s north coast Torridonian sandstone cliffs tower 400 feet above the sea. From this dramatic viewpoint you may lucky enough to see whales, dolphins, porpoise, seals and basking sharks.

Handa Island is only accessible by ferry from Tarbet pier. Travel 3 miles north of Scourie until you come to the sign for Tarbet and the ferry. Travel a further 3 miles along the single track road to Tarbet. There is a free public car park at the pier.
