Deposit & Cancellation Policy
Due to our remote geographical location the following deposit and cancellation policy applies to all bookings:
Deposits are required in order to secure your reservation. These can be made via credit or debit card. The full cost of the first night of your stay will be taken as the deposit.
For cancellations made more than four weeks prior to the commencement of your stay we will refund your deposit less a £30.00 administration charge.
For cancellations or curtailments made within four weeks of the commencement of your stay we will charge the full cost of the accommodation unless we are able to re-let the room.
All cancellations must be communicated via email to [email protected]. Failure to notify us of a cancellation will result in the full cost of the stay being charged.
We strongly advise all our guests to take out travel insurance against any unforeseen cancellations.
In the unlikely event that we are forced to cancel your stay due to matters outside of our control we reserve the right to postpone your booking to a later date or issue a credit note against any payments made by you or on your behalf rather than issue a refund.
In the event of any force majeure preventing the operation of the hotel for part of or the entire duration of your stay we reserve the right to postpone your booking to a later date or issue a credit note against any payments made by you or on your behalf rather than issue a refund.
Parking is available to the front of the hotel with additional parking available to the side. We recommend that all guests arriving by motorcycle use the side carpark.
All vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk and the hotel accepts no liability for any damage, loss or theft when parked in the car park.
Please note that the hotel does not possess a dedicated electric car charging point. In an emergency situation any guest wishing to charge their vehicle via a 13amp socket will be charged a flat rate of £25.00.
Arrival & Departure
Check in will be available from 4:00pm to 10:00pm on the day of arrival. We are unable to offer check in outside of these times.
Rooms must be vacated by no later than 10:30am on the morning of departure.
Guests who book on a B&B basis will not be guaranteed a table for dinner and are strongly advised to reserve a table in advance should they wish to eat in the dining room. When booking on a DB&B package a table will be automatically reserved.
Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free substitutes may be available however we ask that you notify the hotel prior to your arrival. Failure to do so may lead to a lack of suitable options. Please note that we do not operate a dedicated children’s menu.
Breakfast is served from 7:30am until 9:00am.

Our rooms are subject to a maximum occupancy of two adults per room with the exception of the Fisherman’s Lodge which sleeps four.
Well behaved small to medium sized dogs are welcome in our Courtyard, Garden View and Garden Rooms as well as in our Fisherman’s Lodge. There is a maximum of two dogs permitted per room. Dogs are charged at £20.00 per dog per stay subject to a maximum of £80.00 per dog per stay.
Guests are responsible for ensuring that rooms are left in an acceptable condition. Any damage to or loss of either hotel property or guest property may result in charges being applied to your account. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when in public areas of the hotel. Please note that we do not permit dogs into the DIning Room.
Smoking including the use of e-cigarettes is not permitted anywhere inside Scourie Hotel. An additional deep cleaning charge of £100.00 will be made to any guest who disregards this request
Loss or damage to hotel property
Any loss of or damage to hotel property caused by an individual using the hotel facilities will be charged to that individual in full. Lost or non returned keys will be charged at £25.00 per key.
Valid credit/debit card details must be provided at the time of booking for the payment of the deposit. Cards must remain valid for the full duration of the booking. No further charges will be made to the card other than in the case of failure to meet our cancellation policy, non-payment on departure or damage to or removal of hotel property. All charges must be settled by the guest upon departure. Please note we are unable to accept payment via American Express.
Any reservation that includes three or more rooms will be classed as a group booking and will be subject to bespoke terms and conditions. Payment in respect of group bookings will be required in full eight weeks prior to the date of arrival.
